The Black Lives Matter globally protests during the coronavirus pandemic led people across the world to reflect on equality, diversity and inclusion. The sports media outlets wanted to use their respective platforms to amplify messages to help address racial injustice and inequality.
Refresh Sports worked with Discovery on the Trailblazers series. This came to life through a 13 part digital first content series celebrating world sport’s greatest trailblazers – who used their position and platform to push for equality. We guaranteed a diversity team would deliver the series and gave opportunities to talented Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic creatives.
Initially a 10 part series was commissioned but as a result of the success of Trailblazers another 3 were requested by Discovery.
