Leon is one of the most respected and well connected operators in the sports industry.

He began his career at Kick Racism Out of Football in 2002, before establishing himself as a leading broadcaster and film-maker for both BBC Sport and ITV Sport. As a consultant, he has worked with some of the biggest names in the sports industry and also helped respected sports authorities communicate effectively with their audiences.

Leon is a founder of the Black Collective of Media in Sport, Football Black List and the Sports People’s Think Tank – he is also the vice chair of the Sports Journalists Association.

He is an innovator and passionate leader who has dedicated his professional career to helping to improve the sport and media industries.

Joe Larkin

SOCIAL AND DIGITAL CONTENT MANAGER

Joe is the lead for all things digital at Refresh, planning and delivering digital content strategies and social media management for a diverse range of Refresh clients.

He has a proven track record of growing social media accounts and increasing engagement – his portfolio includes work for TNT Sports, Eurosport, PGMOL, Yaya Touré and The Football Association.

Joe also leads the digital strategy for the Refresh events portfolio, including the UEFA MIP International Conference, PGMOL Breaking Barriers and The Football Black List.

Joe is proficient in a range of software, including Streamyard, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X.

Prior to joining Refresh, Joe graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Masters in Strategic Management and was part of the Postgraduate Future Leaders Programme, and previously attained a First Class Honours degree in Sport Business Management.

Abbie is a Talent & Commercial Executive at Refresh Sports, supporting talent management, commercial partnerships and talent appearances across the sports industry.

Prior to joining Refresh, Abbie was a Content Executive at Ten Toes, working with high-profile talent including Alessia Russo and Harry Kane, before moving to TNT Sports as a Junior Assistant Producer.

Alongside her role at Refresh, Abbie works as a freelance content producer and editor, with experience in live production and creating social media content for organisations including Street Child United.
