Refresh deliver PGMOL Breaking Barriers in the Community Series

PGMOL, the body responsible for refereeing across the Premier League, EFL and Women’s Professional Game headed to six professional football clubs across the 2023/24 season for the ‘Breaking Barriers in the Community’ series. Delivered by Refresh Sports, the interactive events headed to Fulham, Liverpool, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Leicester City and were supported by the community arms of all six professional clubs.

Seventeen PGMOL match officials shared their journeys from grassroots football to officiating in the higher echelons of the men’s and women’s game with hundreds of young people and the wider grassroots football community discovering more about officiating at all levels of the football pyramid, the experiences of role models and also having the opportunity to step into the role of a Video Assistant Referee.
