A Golden summer for Zharnel Hughes

What an incredible summer it has been for our client, Zharnel Hughes!

Starting his season in Eugene, Oregon, Zharnel kicked off by winning Bronze in the 4x100m Relay at the World Championships, alongside Team GB teammates Jona Efoloko, Nethaneel Mitchell-blake and Reece Prescod.

Following the World Championships, Hughes moved on to representing England at a home Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, winning Silver in the 200m, before capping off an amazing competition by sweeping to 4x100m Gold with his team-mates in front of a roaring home crowd to defend the title for England.

To culminate an extremely busy summer, Zharnel headed off to his third championships of the summer in Munich, where he attempted the โ€˜tripleโ€™ of competing in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m Relay at the European Championships.

Building on his incredible success in Eugene and Birmingham, Zharnel became of the most successful men at the European Championships, bringing home Gold medals in the 200m and 4x100m Relay (setting a European Championships Record) to become a double European Champion, whilst also finishing 2nd in the 200m to complete his fantastic medal haul.

The talent, work ethic and positive outlook that Zharnel has displayed has seen him receive widespread acclaim across the summer and he has his huge ambitions ahead of the next year’s World Championships and the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
